Women of Vision

Members of Women of Vision: Chandre Baker, Candis James, Amanda Smith, Maggie Chaney, Freddie McCall, Kim McCall, Deloise Pickney, Dorothy Bartee, Rosie Osborne, Jerry Dean Smith, Mother Mary Bell Smith, Michelle Pringle, Bernadine Patterson, Suzan Vaughn, and Darlene Pettis.

" A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. " (Proverbs 12:4-5)

I am equally excited about what I see the Lord doing through the Holy Spirit with women in this last day. More and more I see God is calling women into prominent positions of leadership within the Body of Christ. As we prepare for the Church of the 21st Century we must be sensitive to the "move of the Holy Ghost in the life of our Church. God is indeed doing a new thing. And yet it is not such a new thing, actually, God is calling His house back to order. Women have always played a prominent role in the life of the Church. Women like Ruth and Naomi, Moses’ sister Miriam, Deborah, Phebe and Priscilla and many, many others. In Roman 16 Paul lists a whole list of women who were important in the life of the early Church.

In the past we have relied upon the traditional Woman's Missions and Matron's Departments. However, these traditional groups are outdated and outmoded for the 21st Century Church. Their methods focus and reach have not kept up with the times. We simply cannot expect to use outdate methods and be effective in today's world. We cannot continue to use the ideas and methods of the 50's and expect them to be fruitful in the 21st Century.

Therefore, Women of Visison (WOV) seeks to transform women into powerful vessels in the hands of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Women of Vision is women leading through precept and example. WOV seeks to equip women to be virtuous women of God. Serving God with dignity, reverence and in the spirit of excellence. We will present our best to God, which is our reasonable service.

WOV has a Biblical Mandate: (a) God is looking for "Women/Wives" who trust in Him and who has Heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 (b) Husband are looking for wives who they can trust to nurture and rear their children and make a home for them. Ephesians 5: 25-29. (c) Children are looking for "Women/Mothers" whom they can trust to parent them and train them up in the way they should go. Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4. (d) The Church is looking for "Women" whom she can trust to lead as they are being lead by the Holy Ghost. (e) The Community is looking for "Women" whom it can trust to be living witnesses of the power of God in their lives.(f) The world is looking for "Women" whom it can trust to effectively deliver the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Church" and the Church " welcome women in ministry. Joel 2:28 -29: Acts 2:2:17 and Galatians 3:28-29.

The Goals of Women of Vision are as follows:

A. To present the love of God to women.

B. To challenge women to become committed and growing Christians,

becoming real "Daughters of the Promise".

C. To minster to the special needs and interests of today's women.

D. To exercise the unique ministries of women among people in general.

E. To help women develop their full potential as persons

(spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially) and for ministry.

F. To involve women in useful and worthwhile creative services throught the church, under the leadershp of the Holy Spirit. No longer should women be looked upon as a second class Christian, useful only to raise money for the church's projects.

Some of our activities and events from the past:

Every November we participate in the feeding of families in the community who are less fortunate for Thanksgiving.

Every December we host "100 Women in Red"

We now deliver "Care Baskets" to the elders of our community
